It would be an interesting statistic to know how many Native Canadians are imprisoned for equal or lesser offences, having their lives destroyed by incarceration, while this former CON MP gets to live a happy family life, free as a bird!

...recently I was stopped by the rcmp at a road check - the cop asked me up front - are you First Nations? I responded, why, do I lose some rights if I am? he muttered something that I was not meant to hear and told to move on..... :((((

Native Canadians are totally over-represented in the prison populations in this country; approximately 75% of inmates are native ...and that is a shame and shows just how prejudiced our judicial system is...and how some prejudiced 'ordinary' Canadians really are..

I work with a 'social' service agency for 'criminals' and the Omnibus bill has been sent multitudes of letters/emails from mine and other social service agencies. However, no one has the power to control heil harpo except the voters, and while he denies funding to the programs that will help native and non-native Canadians stay out of jail, he is pushing through bills that are not only treasonous, but should be considered as crimes against the Canadian people as a whole...he is going to destroy this country, regardless of the cost to the people--tyrant, despot, maniac all describe our pm to a 'T'...and our native population has always payed a higher price in the criminal justice system than a 'white' person...I'm going to go way out on a limb here and say the only people safe from heil harpo are harpo and harpo...the rest of us are totally screwed, blued and tatooed...
In Canada there always was/is a justice system, and a legal system...if your connected you will be dealt with in the justice system, if your Aboriginal or poor you will be handled in the legal system...it has been this way for quite some time now...Harper gets a pass on this one from me...but due to become much worse because of Harper and his mega-prison dreams!!!

The correct percentage of Natives in our jails is actually 33%...which is still WAY too much if you consider ALL the non-natives (white, black, yellow, brown, green, etc) in jail!! It's despicable!"
